Vertical Scope Group

Vertical Scope Group (VSG) is a security cleared consultancy and recruitment firm serving the defence and national security sectors in Australia. It provides ICT and cyber security consultancy to federal government departments and corporate clients, supported by a recruitment division that fills contract and permanent roles from dedicated talent pools. It says it has direct access to more than 700 registered PV cleared consultants. The ICT roles it recruits for include software engineers, cloud DevOps engineers, business analysts, security architects, penetration testers and project managers.

The business began in 2009 as Vertical Scope Defence Industry Recruitment, founded by David Jam, who is chief executive. Vertical Scope Group was launched in 2020 as an end-to-end consultancy provider to government. It operates nationally, with offices in Canberra and Melbourne, holds Defence Industry Security Program membership and says it is 100% Australian owned.

Its WorkPath Australia program, launched in 2021, arranges free ICT training and employment pathways for veterans, working with employment partners such as Red Hat.
