Turtle Island Staffing

Turtle Island Staffing is an Indigenous-owned Canadian recruitment agency founded in 2006. It was set up to create career opportunities for Indigenous professionals and to help organisations build inclusive teams. The agency is based in Ottawa and recruits for positions across Canada, including remote communities.

It places professionals with federal government departments, Crown corporations, non-profit organisations and private sector employers. Roles fall within Indigenous engagement, policy and program delivery, communications, human resources, finance, operations and IT. It says its team has knowledge of federal procurement and security requirements.

Its sourcing model gives priority to Indigenous professionals, then local community members, then its national network. Clients can engage it for performance-based recruitment, contract support or dedicated search, and its consultants handle interview scheduling, reference checks and offer negotiations. Founder and CEO Mary Ann Dumont says she has more than 25 years in the recruitment industry.
