The Search Bar

The Search Bar is a staffing agency dedicated exclusively to recruiting talent in the AI and Search engineering space. The firm positions itself as the only recruitment firm specialising entirely in this niche, recognising that professionals with expertise in AI, search systems, and large language models represent extraordinarily rare talent, approximately one in 2,500. Rather than casting wide recruitment nets, the firm focuses on singular, hand-curated placements built through direct relationships and proprietary technical assessments.

The Search Bar's recruitment methodology combines deep technical expertise with rigorous vetting. All candidates complete proprietary assessments developed in-house to evaluate expertise across architectural components, roles, and tasks required to run production-grade AI and search systems. Candidates are interviewed by search experts to understand preferences, motivations, and ideal role fit, with an explicit commitment to building lasting matches rather than transactional placements. The firm recruits across multiple disciplines including machine learning and AI engineers, data scientists, backend engineers, data engineers, product managers, and infrastructure specialists, with expertise spanning vector search, embeddings, large language models, RAG systems, recommendation systems, and search quality optimisation.

The Search Bar serves startups, scale-ups, and enterprises building next-generation products requiring AI and Search expertise. They operate globally with candidate concentrations in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and India. The founder has personally placed 200+ engineers and spent the last decade of his career embedded with search teams across the industry.
