The JBar

The JBar Group, LLC is an executive legal recruiting company based in New York City that specialises in placing attorneys with law firms nationally. Founded by experienced legal recruiter and former practising attorney Josh Ben-Asher, Esq., the firm is unique in its matchmaking philosophy. The company believes that well-suited matches create long and successful relationships and takes seriously the role of matchmaker by listening carefully to understand the needs of both attorneys and law firms. Using listening, industry knowledge, experience, and a vast network of contacts as building blocks for success, The JBar Group makes quality introductions between attorneys and law firms as efficiently as possible.

The JBar Group measures success not from the initial placement, but from watching associates move up to counsel and partner positions, partners growing their practice with a new platform, and from hearing about successful outcomes from both firms and attorneys years later. The firm recognises that making a move to another law firm can be stressful and ensures availability early mornings, late into the evening, and on weekends to facilitate open conversations. Client testimonials highlight their professionalism, readily-available support, thorough research on law firms, and invaluable interview preparation advice. The firm abides by the code of ethics of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants (NALSC), of which it is a proud member.

The JBar Group serves attorneys at all career stages, whether actively looking for new opportunities, passively keeping options open, or currently satisfied in their present position. They also work with AmLaw 50 law firms, small boutique firms, and everything in between, taking time to understand practice, culture, hiring needs, and candidate criteria. Their emphasis is on getting to know clients and candidates on a personal level, resulting in the highest quality and longest lasting placements done efficiently without inappropriate candidate submissions.
