The Ipsa Group

The IPSA Group is an independent, Carolinas-based recruiting firm focused on high-level partner and practice group placement and new office openings. Under Peggy Britt's leadership, the firm has stayed true to its founding vision of being a bespoke legal recruiting firm that maximises value for both attorneys and law firms. Peggy holds a background including clerking for Judge Hugh Wells on the North Carolina Court of Appeals, practicing law in the Triangle, and consulting in the not-for-profit sector. She holds a B.A. from Davidson College and a J.D. from Wake Forest University.

The IPSA Group operates with a philosophy of quiet legal recruiting, operating quietly and effectively behind the scenes rather than engaging in high-volume cold calling or pervasive social media campaigns. Their strength lies in profound and extensive relationships cultivated within the legal community, extending beyond clients and candidates to a wide network of insiders providing privileged insights and intelligence. This approach allows them to serve clients better through deep understanding of firm cultures and individualised strategy customisation. The firm's candidate-first approach prioritises lawyer career aspirations and professional growth above all, recognising this benefits both attorneys and law firm clients through more sustainable and mutually fulfilling matches.

Notable placements include moving most of a Raleigh office of an AmLaw 100 firm, including its managing partner, into a different thriving AmLaw 100 office; opening the Charleston office for a global law firm; starting the DC office of a premier regional firm with a partner from an AmLaw 20 firm that has since grown to 30 people; and orchestrating placement of distinguished corporate groups across AmLaw 100 firms. Their personalised approach leverages detailed firm analytics and decades-long relationships with top firms' leadership.
