The Davis

The Davis Group is a full-service national legal search boutique founded by Bill Davis, one of New York's premier attorney search consultants with 30 years of recruitment experience in the largest and most competitive legal market in the United States. Bill brings distinctive perspective from eight years as Director of Recruiting in the New York City headquarters of a global law firm, combined with extensive external recruitment experience. He is known for his wise counsel, extensive network, and unwavering integrity in providing valuable insights to candidates about legal markets, firm cultures, and environments ranging from large global firms to small boutiques.

The Davis Group's core services include partner and practice group recruitment (handling moves of partners between firms and group growth initiatives), associate and counsel recruiting (placing experienced counsel and associates of all levels and practice areas in firms from AmLaw 100/200 to boutiques), and in-house counsel recruiting (supporting companies, funds, and financial institutions in growing their legal departments). Bill was recognised in New York Law Journal's Best of 2024 survey as one of the top three New York-based legal recruiters. His most notable accomplishment was placing an entire litigation group of 67 attorneys between global law firms.

Clients value The Davis Group for their local expertise combined with national reach, their strict confidentiality and discretion, their personalised and evaluative approach driven by candidate needs rather than timing pressures, and their depth of knowledge in attorney development, needs, and market dynamics.
