The Batten Group is a national executive search and consulting firm that serves nonprofit, healthcare, higher education and mission-based philanthropic organizations. It is based in Matthews, North Carolina. It recruits chief executives, executive directors, fundraising and development leaders, and chief operations, financial and scientific officers, and it also runs searches for organizational development and strategic HR planning roles.

Alongside search, the firm consults on talent and human capital issues, including leadership needs assessment, planning for succession, consolidations and mergers, salary surveys, executive onboarding and interim placement at CEO and executive director level. Its search process has five stages, from qualifying the position and outreach to candidate interviews, a 360-degree reference check of up to 10 references and, if the client prefers, offer negotiation.
