Swiss Private Staff

Swiss Private Staff GmbH is an owner managed agency, inhabergeführt in its own words, that handles Personalvermittlung for private households in Switzerland and internationally. It calls itself the first port of call for exclusive placement of qualified Hauspersonal, and its argument is that the right employee makes the decisive difference when the workplace is someone's own home. Rather than working through a fixed list of roles, it asks clients to describe their wishes and needs, then searches not simply for a suitable person but for the person best suited to that particular position.

The roles it places are set out one by one. They include the Nanny, the combined Nanny and Haushaltshilfe, the Haushaltshilfe, the Haushälterin, the Butler or Haushaltsmanager, the Hauswirtschafterpaar who take on indoor and outdoor work as a practised team, the Privatkoch or Privatköchin, the Gutsmanager who runs estates and land at home and abroad, the Facility Manager and practical allrounder who maintains the grounds and repairs equipment, the Leibwächter or personal security officer, the Chauffeur, and the persönliche Assistentin or Assistent who organises and plans a client's day to day life. The company notes that this list is not exhaustive.

The agency works from Dufourstrasse 30 in Zürich and advertises its vacancies by region across the Deutschschweiz, the Westschweiz and the Ticino, with the site published in German, English and French. Handing the care of children, a household or one's own security to a stranger takes a great deal of trust, and Swiss Private Staff answers that with a selection procedure it says ensures only very well qualified and reliable applicants are put forward, so that clients waste no time on unnecessary interviews. It publishes a FAQ for clients and a separate FAQ for candidates alongside an Über uns page, and it takes enquiries on +41 79 223 77 85.
