Spyglass Africa

Spyglass Africa is a recruitment business based in Cape Town, South Africa, that focuses on search for companies operating across the African continent. It is owned and managed by Emanuele Lemme, who spent close to a decade with a UK based international executive search firm, where he managed a desk covering oil and gas, chemicals and mining. He then set up an Africa focused recruitment service in Cape Town and later established Spyglass Africa.

The company offers a consultative recruitment service to multinational clients and uses a targeted search methodology. It head-hunts both expatriate professionals and locally based African professionals. Its key focus industries are chemicals (agrochemicals, industrial, fragrances and food ingredients, water treatment and construction chemicals), petrochemicals (upstream, midstream and downstream), mining and agriculture. In agriculture it covers sales, operations and technical roles.

Roles it has worked on include marketing, sales, production, quality control, controlling, engineering and exploration positions, in East Africa, West Africa, the DRC, South Africa and Namibia.
