About the Agency
Spirit Omega is an Indigenous woman-owned staffing and recruitment agency based in Calgary, Alberta. It opened in 1998 as Spirit Staffing, founded by Janice Larocque, a Metis woman who had managed an Indigenous career and employment centre. It became Spirit Omega in 2020 after joining NSB-Omega.
The agency fills professional, technical, administrative and trades roles, and says it specialises in oil and gas and industrial staffing. Its services include staffing, recruitment process outsourcing, payroll and contingent workforce management, safety training and Indigenous consulting. It recruits for people of all backgrounds, with a particular focus on Indigenous recruitment, community engagement and consultations. Its subsidiary division, Fast Labour Solutions, has provided industrial staffing since 2000, and a safety training division was launched in 2001.
Spirit Omega says it has a presence across Canada, holds master staffing agreements with multinational corporations and serves hundreds of private, public and not-for-profit organisations. An Edmonton branch opened in 2003. The company reports more than 40 million dollars in sales.
