Skillset

Skillset is a not-for-profit group training organisation with its head office in Bathurst, New South Wales. It provides permanent recruitment, labour hire, and apprenticeship and traineeship services across regional NSW, and says it is the largest employer of apprentices and trainees in Western NSW. Roles it recruits for include civil construction labourers, mechanics, fitter and engineering apprentices, and process workers.

The organisation was founded in 1982 as Central West Group Apprentices in Bathurst, beginning with one office and 22 apprentices, and was later renamed Skillset. It now has offices in Bathurst, Broken Hill, Dubbo, Mudgee, Orange and Parkes. Narelle Stocks is chief executive officer.

Alongside recruitment it runs Youth Connect, a support program for people aged 15 to 21, and Career Connect, for young women aged 17 to 24. It also operates Skillset Senior College for Years 10 to 12, Land Works, a landscape management service, and meeting room hire in Bathurst.
