Sezam

Sezam is a recruitment firm with its head office in Montreal, specialising in construction, real estate, civil works, mining, engineering and manufacturing. It works with companies on strategic hires and with professionals on their careers across Canada, and describes its approach as that of a boutique firm.

The firm says it takes on a limited number of mandates, with one consultant assigned to each search. It says it often recruits people who are already in post and hard to approach, and that it assesses candidates on skills, attitude, ability to fit in and potential for progression.

Its work is organised in four areas: building (residential, commercial, industrial and institutional construction), real estate (development, property management, investment and asset operation), civil and mining (infrastructure, transport, civil works, resources and mining), and engineering and manufacturing. In building, the roles it fills include project directors, site superintendents, estimators, construction vice-presidents and project controllers. Besides Montreal, it has offices in Quebec City and Toronto.
