I moved out of marketing and sales roles within building materials markets into recruitment in 2000, motivated by many frustrating experiences as a candidate. I worked exclusively in the B2B sector at Morgan & Banks, recruiting sales and marketing roles from graduates through to senior management. I also had the opportunity to work with some of the best recruiters in Australia. I sat at their feet… I listened, I learned, and I applied best practice. I was lucky to have amazing mentors, some of which I still have today. I have seen the recruitment industry change and adapt over the last 25 years. I am a constant student of best practice and the effective application of those best practices to improve the experience of clients, candidates and our team at Saunders Lynn. For nearly 25 years, I have developed in-depth knowledge and experience recruiting in the B2B marketplace, specifically focusing on building and architecture, industrial and education markets with clients such as Boral, CSR, James Hardie, GWA, Laminex, The Living Edge, Sebel Furniture and Armstrong among many others. Today, I spend most of my time working on General Management roles and senior executive positions in sales and marketing. If I am not networking and assessing senior executive candidates, I am sharing what I have learned over my many years in recruitment with my team or with potential candidates to help them build the careers they have always wanted. My career is predominantly in Marketing, FMCG, people management and operations. I have a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business management, majoring in marketing. My first job was as a recruitment intern while at university, where I got a taste for sourcing talent and writing enticing job adverts. I have worked in various marketing roles within a variety of industries such as oil and gas, retail and commercial property, and fast-moving consumer goods. This led to sales and merchandising management and operations roles. I was managing and organising hundreds of merchandisers nationwide, focusing on quality training and systems to maintain brand presence and increase sales. I am the Resourcer and Administration Manager at Saunders Lynn. I keep the recruiters to task, gently remind them of key deadlines and help create a smooth process for our internal team at Saunders Lynn, and for our clients and candidates. I am working on a wide variety of sales and marketing recruitment assignments - I focus on identifying talent and searching for candidates. I am also the “go-to” support person for our tech stack. I love seeing a candidate I have identified come through our process and be hired and love their new job and employer.

I’m a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a fresh perspective on the recruitment industry. Earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering has helped me develop an analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills. Transitioning into recruitment has allowed me to merge my technical expertise with my passion for talent acquisition. I source candidates in the most efficient way possible, streamlining the process to connect the right people with the right opportunities. I take pride in my ability to bridge the gap between technical requirements, sales and marketing skill sets, culture fit and behavioural needs of our clients. I am constantly on the lookout for candidates that are engineers, trades or interior designers and combining that technical skill set with sales or marketing experience. I love finding new business and introducing the Saunders Lynn brand to new clients and candidates.

I have spent most of my career in senior Human Resources roles at CSR. As a result, I have extensive strategic and operational experience providing HR leadership and services to middle management and executive leadership teams. As a result, I have a deep understanding of building materials businesses, their people and talent needs across ANZ and Asia. I have spent my career analysing issues and providing innovative, practical and consultative advice, support and solutions. My time at CSR required providing a wide range of HR solutions, which also included identifying, recruiting and onboarding senior executives, typically in General Management and Executive Leadership positions. I bring to Saunders Lynn a keen eye for talent identification within the building industry in executive leadership roles. My clients and candidates can utilise my years of experience in talent identification and development.
