Runway Strategies

Runway Strategies is a legal career consultancy founded by Korey Henson, who focuses solely on the careers of lawyers. The company provides individually tailored career strategy coaching for pre-law and law students and for practising lawyers, alongside targeted lawyer recruiting solutions for law firms and businesses, and professional development programmes for law firms. Korey has coached and mentored over 1,400 law students and lawyers and has helped launch legal careers in all 50 states.

The firm works across four groups within the legal sector: pre-law and law students seeking to maximise their career trajectory, lawyers looking to boost their careers or find a better fit, law firms and businesses trying to identify the right lawyer for a role, and law firms wanting to help their existing lawyers excel and thrive. Korey holds a J.D. from Stetson Law and previously practised in South Carolina focusing on elder law, estate planning and business law before moving into legal career consulting and recruiting full time.

Runway Strategies is based in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, where Korey Henson is active in the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), the Florida Association for Legal Recruitment Administrators (FALRA), the South Florida Association for Law Placement (SFALP), Tampa Bay Legal Recruiters (TBLR) and the Central Florida Association for Law Placement (CFALP). Korey has served NALP in several national leadership roles, including co-chair of the JD Advisors Section's Employer Outreach Working Group and as an elected member of its 2021 Nominating Committee, and received the J. Ben Watkins Award for Excellence in the Legal Profession for outstanding leadership and accomplishment in the legal community.
