Retained is a Brisbane-based recruitment business that places tech roles, with a focus on Australian SaaS businesses. It works across all areas of tech and recruits on both a contract and a permanent basis. It says its team has worked with clients to build contract teams since 2007.

Managing Director Matt Brearley left small business consulting and moved into tech recruitment 15 years ago. The company describes its approach as built around three steps: Search, Select and Engage. Examples of its work include searches for a Solution Architect, a Product Manager and a Head of Customer Success. Its team also includes account managers and candidate managers.

Retained reports 15 years of industry experience, more than 500 permanent and contract placements, 400 contract roles placed and 160 projects supported. It also says many of its clients have been with it for ten years or more.
