Pompkracht recruits, screens and places pompkrachten, the staff who work on petrol station forecourts and in their shops. It offers work that fits the individual, whether that is a permanent job, a side job alongside study or shifts taken whenever someone is available, and it presents temporary work as a stepping stone to permanent employment.

The specialisation is the fuel retail forecourt. Employers use Pompkracht either for single shifts at short notice or to fill a standing vacancy, and the company describes its promise as the right person at the right moment. Its core values are reliability, guest focus and engagement, and every candidate is extensively screened against them before being allowed to work as a pompkracht. Selection uses an online screening with a behavioural psychology basis, which the company says rules out subjective perception, unconscious stereotypes, prejudice and assumptions, giving no bias but quality. Pompkracht works across the whole of the Netherlands and always offers work in the candidate's own region. It cooperates with more than thirty organisations that between them operate over six hundred petrol stations throughout the country, and says it has more than two hundred reliable pompkrachten ready to start immediately. The company states it has been market leader for more than fifteen years and that eighty per cent of its people are taken on in permanent employment.
