Alongside this sits labour consulting delivered by in-house legal counsel on an ad hoc or retainer basis: expert labour advice, drafting and implementation of contracts, policies and procedures, compliance with industry legislation and case law, Labour Department queries and inspections, union rights under section 25 of the LRA, representation in union meetings and negotiations, chairing disciplinary hearings and grievance meetings, facilitating retrenchments and incapacity inquiries, and CCMA and Bargaining Council representation. Employee administration covers weekly payroll and payslips, statutory deductions, submissions to SARS, and UIF and COIDA registration.
