Marcus & Associates is an executive recruitment firm based in New York that places professionals in accounting, finance, regulatory, internal audit, risk, compliance, real estate and ESG roles. Ellen Marcus founded the firm in 1991 after several years in recruiting, starting with CPA placements. She is Senior Managing Director and Founder, and John Schmit is also a Senior Managing Director. Jacob Lefkowitz, a Managing Director, leads the real estate practice.

The firm works on both retained and contingent searches. Its placements include Chief Financial Officer, Controller, treasury, SEC reporting, technical accounting, tax, financial planning and analysis, investor relations and valuations roles. Clients come from financial services, including banking, brokerage and insurance, as well as private equity, venture-backed technology, media and advertising, and pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies.

For private equity clients it says it can find finance leaders anywhere in the country. The firm is certified as a Women's Business Enterprise through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.
