M Squared

M Squared is an executive recruiting firm that matches candidates with companies building their teams. It was founded by Mayra Martinez, who works as its executive recruiter and headhunter. The name is a nod to her initials, MM.

Martinez says she has more than 18 years of experience building teams in house for two of the largest non-union electrical contractors in the United States, and that over that period the companies grew revenue by 400% and hired an average of 1,500 employees a year. She also reports more than 23,000 connections in the construction sector.

Clients work with the firm through a four-step process. It consults on the role and candidate attraction strategy, headhunts and assesses candidates with a weekly progress call, presents recommended candidates and supports interviews, then helps assess the finalists and oversees salary negotiations. The firm also offers career coaching to candidates. It says it supports missionaries and non-profit organisations, including Porphyria related foundations.
