Karlayura Personnel

Karlayura Personnel is an Aboriginal-owned recruitment and labour hire business serving the Australian market. It describes itself as majority Aboriginal-owned and part of the Brian Tucker Foundation. It supplies clients in the mining, construction, civil, supply chain and logistics industries, with sectors including engineering and access trades, mining production and maintenance, drill and blast, electrical and fabrication.

Director Brian Tucker, a traditional owner on Banyjima and Nyiyaparli country, founded the company to preserve Aboriginal cultural traditions and develop strong and self-sustaining communities. It aims to give Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people opportunities to gain employment, develop their skills and pursue a career. Alongside recruitment, it says it offers training and specialised services.

Kkarlayura has five operating offices, in Perth, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie, Karratha and Brisbane, set up to supply both local and FIFO trades. It partners with other Aboriginal businesses and supports local community organisations. It holds a Master Services Agreement with Fortescue Metals Group, and says the two have worked together for many years.
