IBB GmbH und Co. KG is a Personal-Management and Consulting business whose motto is that it does not find just anyone. Founder and owner Dipl.-Ing. (TU) Dietmar Barainsky, who works as Senior Consultant, sums up the proposition as finding the best engineers. The firm argues that anyone who wants to find engineers has to understand them, and its own technical background is what allows it to identify the right candidates. IBB works individually rather than at volume: it searches until the right applicants have been found and deliberately keeps no conventional candidate pool, approaching potential candidates directly instead. The firm runs two related practices. Headfinding covers the recruitment of engineers as specialists and managers, whether as employees, partners or successors. The process moves through establishing the client's precise requirements, drawing up an Anforderungsprofil covering both professional and personal competencies, direct research and approach, personal interviews usually conducted by Dietmar Barainsky himself, and the presentation of candidates only once IBB is convinced of the fit. The second practice is Unternehmensnachfolge, company succession, where IBB advises owners handing over a business, prospective successors who want to lead their own company or become junior partners, and investors looking to expand through an additional site, a wider product range or a sound investment.
