HuisartsenHulp is an Amsterdam based intermediary that solves the staffing questions of eerstelijns huisartsenzorg, working with huisartspraktijken, gezondheidscentra and huisartsenposten. It was set up more than 15 years ago by Brian Hickey and Midas Buddemeijer, two entrepreneurs with long experience in primary care who saw where the pain points sat, and it is run by a small team drawn from both huisartsenzorg and the uitzend world. Its main focus is temporary cover at very short notice, usually solved within a few hours even for spoedaanvragen in the evening or at the weekend, and it also places permanent staff.

The company describes itself as the intermediary between huisartsen and waarnemend huisartsen, praktijkondersteuners, praktijkverpleegkundigen, gediplomeerde doktersassistenten, basisartsen and geneeskundestudenten, and it maintains a large national network in each of those groups.
