HireOut Network

HireOut is a recruitment network built around an unusual proposition: it removes problem employees by recruiting them directly into new roles elsewhere. The company asks employers whether they would like an employee to leave on good terms, and positions its service as taking the pain out of redundancies, culture mismatches and terminations. Employers submit an application, which the company says takes two minutes, and recruiters in the network then contact the candidate directly with potential roles while confidentiality is maintained. Alongside the employer side, HireOut runs an application route for recruiters who want to apply to join the network, plus employer log in, sign up and pricing pages.

The benefits HireOut sets out are practical and specific. Some HR problems need to be resolved rapidly to ensure continuous business operation, and the company reports that placements are often accepted within 12 weeks. Because not everyone is a culture fit for an organisation, it finds suitable new roles for the candidate based on their industry, location and job level. It gives employers a way to reduce fixed headcount without the public relations fallout, describing the hire-out process as confidential and risk-free with a completion guarantee. It also frames the outcome as a dignified one, on the basis that no one likes to be fired and it is better that people leave on good terms.

There are two commercial arguments the company makes as well. When an employee moves on voluntarily there is no need to pay out a redundancy package, and payment can be made to HireOut only after the candidate has given notice. The company also points out that in California an increase in claims from terminations can lead to a higher unemployment insurance tax rate for the employer in subsequent years, which its approach helps avoid. HireOut states that it places staff with major brands.
