Health Workforce Queensland is a not-for-profit, non-government rural workforce agency dedicated to supporting and improving access to an optimal primary health workforce across Queensland. For over 25 years, the organisation has responded to remote and rural health workforce challenges by creating sustainable health workforce solutions that meet the needs of remote, rural, regional, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Health Workforce Queensland provides access to highly skilled health professionals when and where they are needed, now and into the future, whilst delivering comprehensive recruitment services and workforce support programmes.

Health Workforce Queensland operates extensive recruitment programmes including the Five Year International Medical Graduates Recruitment Scheme, Pre-Fellowship Program, and Workforce Incentive Programs for both doctors and rural advanced skills practitioners. The company also manages the Health Workforce Scholarship Program, professional development workshops, and student engagement initiatives to build sustainable rural health workforces. Additionally, Health Workforce Queensland provides specialised support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services and cultural responsiveness training.
