Headstar is a finance recruitment consultancy based in Leeds. It recruits finance professionals at all levels, from senior roles such as finance directors, CFOs, financial controllers and heads of finance, to qualified staff including finance managers and management accountants, and transactional and part qualified roles such as credit controllers and purchase ledger clerks. It offers permanent, interim and executive search services. It also provides part-time finance director support through a network of fractional CFOs, and consultancy on finance team transformation.

The business is run by qualified Finance Directors and experienced recruiters. Its history goes back to 1986, when FD Yorkshire Limited was incorporated to provide part-time finance director services to local businesses. That company merged with the national recruitment consultancy Woodrow Mercer in 2016, and in 2020 the management team led a management buyout to launch Headstar as a finance-focused business.

Headstar says it works with businesses across the UK, and it has location pages for Yorkshire and the East Midlands. It also founded HerFinance Circle, a community for senior women in finance in Yorkshire, and the Finance Futures executive summit with TheBusinessDesk.com.
