Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN) is Nebraska's Primary Care Association, dedicated to expanding and enhancing access to quality, community-responsive care at Nebraska's health centres. The organisation serves as a supportive partner and advocate for positive change in community health, empowering and strengthening community health centres through collaborative approaches that bring together healthcare providers, community partners, government, legislature, and other stakeholders to create lasting solutions. HCAN's mission is to advance the health centre movement, with a vision of access, health, and well-being for all.

HCAN supports Nebraska's community health centres, which are non-profit, community-based, patient-centred organisations delivering comprehensive, culturally competent primary health care. These centres provide integrated primary care, preventative services, chronic disease management, and support services addressing medical, dental, and behavioural health needs. In 2024, Nebraska's community health centres served over 123,000 unduplicated patients, with 33 per cent uninsured and 73 per cent having incomes at or below 200 per cent of poverty levels.

The organisation operates throughout Nebraska, providing resources, education, and advocacy to strengthen community health centres across the state. HCAN offers an on-demand library of pre-recorded trainings and materials, supports health centre board governance education, and facilitates sponsorship opportunities for the annual Nebraska Community Health Conference. By serving as Nebraska's Primary Care Association, HCAN plays a crucial role in ensuring sustainable, community-directed healthcare delivery and advocating for policies that support expanded access to quality primary care services.
