Green Baize Door

Green Baize Door is a London-based placement agency and advisory firm that places household staff in private homes, palaces, royal courts and on private yachts. Kevin Johnson founded it in spring 2005 and is its managing director. It recruits for roles such as butlers, house managers, housekeepers, chefs, nannies, gardeners, chauffeurs, private office staff and yacht and air crew, and it has also placed IT specialists in large homes in Britain.

It recruits for employers in London, the United Kingdom and abroad. It says its consultants have worked both in private service and in the human resources industry, and that most of its recommendations come by word of mouth. Clare Braddick, an associate, oversees household staff placements.

Alongside recruitment, the company runs GBD-Consultancy, a group of hospitality specialists who support employers, operators and stakeholders. It reports delivering hospitality consultancy projects in Europe and the Middle East. It also offers event management, recommending teams for events.
