GEAR Works describes itself as the strongest link in flexible labour for the technical, construction and metal sectors. The company's starting point is that the essence of the work is making a connection between people: it speaks the language of tradespeople, knows the shop floor, and says it is happy to roll up its sleeves alongside them. In practice that means arranging everything around a placement, from professional safety equipment and the correct certificates and tools for its tradespeople through to fast and correct payment. Its strength, the company says, lies in filling an entire workforce rather than single gaps, and in taking the whole process off an employer's hands from registration to payment, for permanent staff and flexible tradespeople alike, so the client can keep focusing on its core business.

The company works in three trades. In techniek it places technical tradespeople, including self employed ZZP workers looking for more hours and firms that need extra technical hands. In bouw it supplies plasterers, tile setters, demolition workers, site clearance staff and carpenters. In metaal it recruits experienced and certified welders for metal industry employers.

GEAR Works works from Schaardijk 19D in Krimpen and can be reached by telephone or through the contact form. The process for candidates is set out plainly: complete the registration form, expect a telephone call, then in most cases a personal meeting so both sides know what the candidate wants, followed by an introduction to a potential employer and a signed agreement before starting, which the company says can happen at very short notice. Hours are submitted through a login portal that also holds the signed agreement and personal data, and the company works to a payment term of seven days followed by weekly payment.
