Gasseling Search

Gasseling Search is a Dutch executive searchbureau specialising in the placement of bestuurders who operate at a high level on the boundary between the private and public sectors. The company sums up its method in the line "weten waar we moeten kijken om het te zien", knowing where to look in order to see it. It is run from a small partner led team, with dedicated pages for Marcel Gasseling and René Hanssen, and it publishes both a portfolio of completed assignments and the searches it currently has open. Gasseling is also the initiator of the Nationaal Voorzittersonderzoek, a national study of the role of the chair, whose 2022 results have been published.

The assignments the company handles show the sectors it works in. Recent searches include an ombudsman for Stichting Klachten en Geschillen Zorgverzekeringen, the Dutch body for complaints and disputes in health insurance; a director for Stichting UPV Textiel, a role combining textile circularity, public private entrepreneurship and delivery; three supervisory board members for Brabant Startup Fonds, covering governance and the public administrative context, innovation and entrepreneurship, and investment and risk management; three supervisory board members for Automotive Campus Helmond, covering governance and strategy, innovation and mobility, and finance and property; a director for the employers' organisation VNO-NCW Midden, carried out together with PolderBanen; and a management board member for NNPC Maritime Insurance, where a cooperative background, risk, finance and IT and insurance experience were sought.

The company works from the Zandstaete building at Julianaplein 10 in 's-Hertogenbosch and can be reached on two telephone numbers and by email. Its position is deliberately narrow: rather than covering the whole labour market it concentrates on governance level appointments where public interest and private enterprise meet, which is reflected in a client list of foundations, funds, campuses, employers' organisations and insurers.
