Footprint Placements

Footprint Placements is an Australian recruitment business that places teachers and other professionals in remote and regional communities. It began in education, and teachers, school leaders and school support staff remain a large part of its work. It now also recruits for community and wellbeing, youth work, and environment and conservation roles.

The company works with schools, not-for-profits and community organisations in areas such as the Kimberley, Arnhem Land, Pilbara, Far North Queensland, the Top End and the Red Centre, as well as Darwin and Mount Isa. It says it has made over 200 placements across Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland.

Footprint Placements was founded by Georgie and Ben Mikus, whose remote journey began at a community school in the Far East Pilbara. It describes itself as a small team. Candidates receive help with questions about accommodation, pets and children's education when relocating, and the company provides a Cultural Competency course from the Stronger Smarter Institute, with first aid training for longer placements.
