Eyecare Recruitment

Eyecare Recruitment is a recruitment and locum agency that specialises in the eyecare profession in Australia and New Zealand. It places optometrists, including final year and new graduate optometrists, and other optometry and optical staff, and arranges locum work for optometrists.

The business began in 2001 as Phillip Fent Locum Services, set up after its founder could not find an optometrist locum agency to cover his OPSM store in Sydney. It later became Optom Locum and Recruitment Service, then rebranded as Eyecare Recruitment when it began serving the whole eyecare profession. It says it has more than 20 years of experience and more than 2000 registered candidates. Employers are offered a no fill, no fee arrangement, and candidates pay nothing to register.

Philip Fent is chief executive and Sally Fent is director and administrator, with Leeza Williams as business development manager and recruiter. The business is run from offices in Melbourne.
