About the Agency
Evans Petersen Legal is a legal recruitment business that works with partners, aspiring partners and senior lawyers. It describes itself as a talent agent that finds career opportunities and brokers deals for individual lawyers, and says it has helped shape careers in the Brisbane legal market since 1998.
The company says it acts exclusively for the individual lawyer rather than the law firm, in the way a player agent does in professional sport. It seeks out available opportunities in the market, advertised or not, and says it is not financially retained by law firms to headhunt on their behalf. It also works with law firm clients, and with corporate and government clients in Queensland on in-house legal roles. Clients it names include Flight Centre, Boeing, Brisbane Airport Corporation, Queensland Rail and the Bank of Queensland.
The team named is Gerard Petersen, a former lawyer and legal talent agent who developed a career management framework called 'The Business of You', and Ashleigh Stewart, who was also a lawyer before moving into recruitment.
