Engaged Headhunters

Engaged Headhunters is an executive search and staffing firm based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, providing recruitment across all 50 U.S. states. It was founded in 2022 by James Pemberton, a U.S. Navy veteran with 17 years in recruiting, and operates as the recruitment arm of BDB Coaching, LLC, a consultancy registered in 2009.

The firm recruits for healthcare, technology, finance and manufacturing. Its healthcare work covers hospital administrators, directors of nursing, CRNAs and certified hand therapists. Executive search covers CEO, CFO, COO and board-level roles. Other practices supply data centre commissioning agents, power grid protection and control engineers, and AI operators. It also offers contract and interim staffing.

The firm says it approaches passive candidates directly rather than relying on job boards, and that outreach starts within two hours of a signed agreement and paid invoice. It states fees of 15 to 30% of first-year salary, with engagement fees starting at $3,500 that are credited toward the placement fee.
