Do Good Connections

Do Good Connections is an executive search firm that works with social justice organizations, nonprofits and philanthropic foundations. It recruits executive directors and CEOs, board members and other senior leaders. Its stated mission is partnering with social justice organizations so that Black, Brown and Queer leaders can thrive.

The firm was founded by Melissa Madzel, its Founder and Principal, who is based in Brooklyn. Its services are executive search, board recruitment for nonprofit and philanthropic boards, and thought partnership, which means working across the sector with organizations to examine power, purpose and possibility. It says it works with a small number of clients at a given time.

It says organizations including the Drug Policy Alliance, Groundswell Fund and the American LGBTQ+ Museum, along with over 70 other nonprofits and foundations, have turned to Madzel for leadership transitions. Before starting her own firm, she held senior roles at Koya Partners|Diversified Search Group and Axis Talent Partners.
