Dakota DesignStaff

Dakota DesignStaff is a design search and placement firm based in Woburn, Massachusetts. It describes itself as a boutique firm owned and managed by architects since 1993. John Donahoe founded Dakota CAD Services in 1993 and then Dakota DesignStaff, and Eric J. Wright is president.

The firm supplies design and technical staff to architecture, engineering and construction firms, and to corporate and institutional facilities departments, across Massachusetts, Metropolitan Boston and New England. The roles it fills include architects, interior and lighting designers, BIM and Revit modelling experts, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, estimators and tradespeople such as electricians, carpenters and plumbers. It also places landscape architecture, industrial design, graphic design and marketing professionals.

Its services cover temporary and temp-to-hire assignments and direct hire placement, as well as executive level placements in the AEC sector and administrative and office support staff. Temporary staff are employed by the agency as W-2 employees. Candidates are screened and take part in a design portfolio review and talent assessment before a client interview.
