Contractor Central

Contractor Central is an Australian recruitment and labour hire business that supplies security-cleared ICT contractors to Federal Government departments. Its work covers government, defence and major digital initiatives, and it also provides payroll and support for the contractors it places.

It recruits across eight ICT areas: data and analytics, software engineering, digital and product, project services (project managers and PMO staff), cloud and DevOps, cybersecurity, infrastructure and support, and tech and sales. The company says it was built for contractors by someone who has worked as a contractor. It works with project teams in Canberra and beyond, and it reports having worked with more than 2000 Federal Government ICT candidates.

Its process starts with a discovery call on technical needs, team fit and budget. It then screens candidates, presents a shortlist with cost breakdowns, carries out police, reference and qualification checks, and finalises onboarding.
