Consultanz is a family-owned recruitment business established in 2012, with its headquarters and only office in Brisbane. It supplies temporary, contract and permanent engineering and associated staff to the engineering, construction and renewable energy industries. Its clients are main contractors, consultancies and civil engineering specialists, and the roles it places include site engineers, project engineers, surveyors, estimators, contracts administrators and project directors.
The business was started by Peter Laver, a director who trained as a surveyor, worked in civil engineering in the UK and moved into recruitment there before returning to Australia in 2011. Its senior management team are qualified surveyors or engineers with project experience in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Project areas include heavy civil and major infrastructure, rail and tram, tunnelling, marine works and survey.
Consultanz works in Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia and Victoria, and across New Zealand. It holds an on-hire labour licence and is an approved sponsor under the temporary skill shortage visa subclass 482, which allows it to sponsor overseas candidates into the Australian civil engineering and construction industry.
