Community Restorative Centre

Community Restorative Centre (CRC) is the leading community provider of support services to people impacted by the criminal legal system in New South Wales. CRC delivers holistic, long-term, intensive relational case work throughout the process of reintegration, creating genuine pathways away from the criminal legal system and into the community. All CRC programmes aim to reduce crime and break entrenched cycles of disadvantage, offending and imprisonment by providing a range of practical and emotional supports to individuals, families and communities.

CRC specialises in comprehensive reintegration services including telephone information and referral, casework and housing support, alcohol and other drugs transition programmes, youth services through Pathways Home, family counselling, court support schemes, and specialist training. The organisation also operates The Miranda Project for women with children, the Extended Reintegration Service across South Western Sydney, transitional and post-release services in the Penrith and Blue Mountains regions, the Far West Indigenous Transition Service, and creative arts initiatives including Jailbreak Radio and the Creative Arts Unit. CRC's advocacy, research and policy unit publishes research and provides briefing papers to all levels of government to improve pathways out of the NSW criminal legal system.

CRC operates across multiple regions of New South Wales, with its head office in Canterbury and a regional office in Broken Hill. The organisation is particularly committed to supporting First Nations Australians, who represent 29 per cent of the prison population despite comprising only three per cent of the general population. CRC works with overincarcerated communities to address the key drivers of incarceration and supports families as they navigate between the prison system and their community.
