Coffin & Associates was an executive search firm based in Chicago whose nationwide recruiting focus served clients in selected pockets of the middle market M&A and corporate turnaround finance arenas. The practice was run by Philip Coffin, who operated it for more than three decades. Its website carries sections covering the firm, its process and a set of sample searches illustrating the assignments it completed.

The firm's niche and subject matter expertise sat squarely within middle market mergers and acquisitions and corporate turnaround finance, rather than across general executive recruitment. That focus defined both the clients it served and the professionals it recruited.

Philip Coffin retired in December 2021, and delayed a public announcement until factors and processes related to the sale and transition of the business were complete. The search practice has since been acquired by another recruiting firm whose niche and subject matter expertise reflect what were his own niche areas within the middle market M&A and corporate turnaround finance arenas, and he offers to facilitate a referral to that firm on request. In closing the practice he thanked the many clients and professionals he was honoured to know and serve, and pointed to the mutual trust and working relationships developed over the life of the business.
