Chaloner

Chaloner is a national search firm that works with mission-driven organisations. It is named after its founder, Ted Chaloner. The firm says its history was in communications, and it now conducts searches at all levels, including program, development, communications, strategic partnerships and initiatives, government affairs, advocacy, human resources, mobility and inclusion, and C-suite roles.

Its clients include foundations and trusts, charitable organisations, educational institutions, certified B-Corporations, membership organisations, cultural institutions, faith-based organisations, consulting partners and public sector agencies. It says it partners exclusively with organisations that have a clear social or environmental purpose. Alongside search, it offers advisory services on leadership, strategy and organisational design. Searches draw on a proprietary database, referrals, industry associations and research, and the firm also coordinates interviews, checks references and manages offers. Its services are free for candidates, and its fees are paid by client organisations.

Chaloner reports more than 130 mission-driven clients and more than 45 years building its network. It also says 65% of its clients in 2025 engaged it for multiple searches.
