Certified Employment Group

Certified Employment Group is a staffing firm and employment agency serving the San Francisco Bay Area and the Sacramento region. It started in San Francisco in 1963 as a family business and says it remains independently owned and family-run. Its headquarters are in Emeryville, and it reports six offices serving Northern California. Jeff Eggert is president.

The company places temporary, temp-to-hire and direct-hire staff, and runs a payroll service in which it takes on payroll tax liabilities, workers' compensation and unemployment claims, and employee benefits. It also provides on-site management for major accounts and an online platform. Its specialties include accounting and finance, administrative, customer service, human resources, IT and tech support, legal support, manufacturing and production, marketing and creative, medical, non-profit and education, operations, and property management roles.

It established a legal division in 1983, Certified Greentech for renewable energy in 2007, and Certified Creative in 2020. McCall Staffing Services merged with it in 2009. It reports a retention rate of over 90 percent for direct hire placements.
