It says it runs three connected businesses: labour hire across Australia and New Zealand, permanent engineering and IT recruitment, and a Latin-American talent network.

Its labour hire crews work in warehouse and distribution, container unloading, mining and resources, construction and infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, major events, traffic management and general labour. In manufacturing it supplies machine operators, process workers, and assembly and packaging crews. Permanent recruitment covers engineering, IT, and environmental and sustainability roles. The Latin-American network includes talent for ANZ companies, services for ANZ companies in Latin America and leadership search in Latin America. Casual workers who move into permanent roles do so with no transition fee.

Calima works in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland, and has operated since 2017. Its founder is Oskar Morad, who came to Melbourne from Cali, Colombia. It is labour-hire licensed in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia, and says it has made hundreds of placements.
