Bulb Recruitment

Bulb Recruitment is a specialist consultancy focused on mechanical and electrical (M&E) recruitment within the UK construction sector, in the building services field. It was founded in 2017 by Matt Sheppard, who began his recruitment career in 2003 and worked across several sectors, including Oil and Gas, before concentrating on construction and engineering. Jeremy Bonner joined as a consultant in 2024.

The company fills permanent and contract roles for contractors and consultancies, from independent firms and national companies to globally recognised organisations. Its work covers design and engineering (mechanical and electrical design, BIM coordination, CAD drafting), preconstruction (tendering, planning, procurement, cost estimation), project management and commercial management, including quantity surveyors and cost consultants. Candidates range from apprentices and technicians to senior project managers, design engineers and department heads.

Its areas of expertise include HVAC systems, electrical installations, fire safety, plumbing, renewable energy and smart building technologies. It says it has over 10 years of experience in the M&E sector and has placed hundreds of professionals across London, the South East and nationwide.
