Bakar Smith is a talent partner for pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech organisations, based in North Sydney. The company was founded by Sharmia and Rob, who are both directors and who say they have each spent 15 to 20 years building and leading talent functions in-house, in RPO and in agency. Sharmia's background is in talent acquisition and strategic sourcing in life sciences across ANZ, covering commercial, medical, regulatory and market access roles. Rob has worked on executive search, succession planning and diversity hiring, and has implemented outsourced recruitment solutions for global medical device and pharmaceutical companies, an aged care provider, a national logistics business and a pharmaceutical consultancy.

Its Extend+ service is an on-demand recruitment outsourcing model with fixed pricing, aimed at growing pharma, biotech and medtech companies without local talent acquisition resources of their own. Executive search is led by a director from brief to offer.
