Auckland Airport Jobs and Skills Hub

Auckland Airport Jobs and Skills Hub, known as Ara, is a workforce service that connects South Auckland people with jobs across the Auckland Airport precinct. It supports people to prepare for work, settle into roles and progress over time, at no cost to employers or jobseekers.

For precinct employers it provides recruitment support covering role scoping, candidate screening, onboarding and in-work support. It also runs career pathway programmes for rangatahi and schools, and offers training courses. It connects local communities with opportunities in aviation, logistics, construction, retail and hospitality, among other areas.

The hub is delivered in partnership with Auckland Airport and the Ministry of Social Development, and Auckland Airport has led and funded it from the start. It says it has spent over a decade on the precinct, works with 125 precinct employer partners and has placed more than 1,440 people into employment.
