Athlete Origin

Athlete Origin is a recruitment business that connects athletes and former athletes with careers in the technology sector, with a focus on sales and business development roles. Its service is free to athletes. It works with companies ranging from technology start-ups to multinational organisations, with opportunities globally.

The company was founded by Angus Gilmour, a former professional badminton player who represented Scotland internationally. Before starting it, he spent eight years helping to build an international recruitment company, including founding and leading its Glasgow office, which places engineers in positions across Europe. In 2021 he set out to build a service linking athletes with professional careers in technology worldwide. Its stated mission is to help athletes live successful and fulfilling lives beyond sport.

Athlete Origin has offices in Glasgow and New York, and discusses partnerships with companies and sporting organisations.
