Aspen Search is a boutique executive search firm that places engineering and research talent with quantitative trading firms and venture-backed technology companies. It places software engineers, quantitative researchers and AI/ML scientists, and says it has done so since 2006. It reports more than 500 placements and 19 years inside these hiring teams.

Its work is organised around four areas: quantitative research, engineering and infrastructure, AI and machine learning, and leadership and team builds. Roles include signal research and portfolio construction, low-latency C++ and market data engineering, applied AI engineering and training infrastructure, and heads of research or engineering leadership. Some searches cover whole functions, such as new desk buildouts and multi-year hiring plans.

Clients named include Two Sigma, Headlands, Citadel teams, Vatic Labs and Syntria, and the company says its client relationships go back nearly two decades. Ben Herman is founder and CEO. The firm says its partners run each search from intake to offer, without junior researchers or algorithmic outreach.
