AltGen

AltGen is a renewable energy recruitment firm founded in South Africa in 2012. It recruits for renewable energy and infrastructure organisations across Africa and the United Kingdom, and offers executive search, recruitment, manpower services and Employer of Record solutions. Sean Gibson is the owner and founder of the AltGen Group of Companies.

Its recruitment work has traditionally focused on three phases of the renewable energy project lifecycle: project development, construction, and operations and maintenance. Roles include project development, project engineering, sales, commercial managers, legal, project finance, project management, construction, health, safety and environment, and asset management. Executive search covers board, executive and senior leadership appointments in renewable energy and infrastructure.

The manpower services division has managed PV plants since 2015 and says it has 400MW+ and several hundred employees under management. It handles sourcing, background checks, onboarding, leave and payroll in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya and Zambia. Employer of Record services come through an affiliation with EOR In Africa. AltGen has offices in the UK, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia, and companies and hybrid staff in Kenya and Mauritius.
