Aboard

Aboard is a Norwegian recruitment company built around a single proposition: your board deserves the right people. A Board AS gives businesses a diverse selection of qualified candidates for board positions and makes it easy for individuals to register their interest in a styreverv, which turns board recruitment from a closed process into an open one. The company argues that recruiting to the board through a personal network alone is a limitation, and its service is designed to reach people a chair or owner would not otherwise know. Before committing, a prospective client can test a search in the candidate database to see the candidates on offer.

Aboard sells two clearly defined services. The first is a candidate list, priced at 35 000 kroner excluding VAT, where the company helps define the requirement, advertises and invites candidates, and presents a shortlist of at least five of the best candidates. The second is a fully assisted recruitment, priced at 90 000 kroner excluding VAT, delivered by one of the company's experienced recruiters, who help define the need, advertise and invite candidates, evaluate everyone who registers interest, conduct interviews and quality assurance, and stay with the client until agreement is reached with a candidate. Alongside the recruitment services the company runs Styrearkivet and a login area for registered users.

Aboard works from Akersgata 16 in Oslo, at Melbye House, and serves businesses recruiting to a board or an advisory board. The reasons it gives for changing the way boards are recruited are practical: help from the start until the right candidate is in place, access to people outside the client's own personal network, access to several thousand candidates, candidates who actively register their interest, saving valuable time and money on the process, and the point that diversity genuinely matters in the boardroom.
