Reputation and reviews

Reviews, testimonials and social proof

Everyone does it, you check the google reviews of coffee shop or restaurants before venturing out, check the score of the movie shortlist on IMDB, check the rating on products before you buy them. If you live in an area you might try both restaurants, if you have time to spare you might watch both movies, if the product is inexpensive you might risk a lower rated product at a good price… however flip it on its head and these ratings and reviews really matter.

For context I am writing this on 12/03/2020 and stock markets around the world dropped another 5-7% as a result of the WHO declaring Covid-19 a Pandemic. It has been an extremely rocky week for the stock market and to my eyes this could cause the next R-word, although for now I will simply refer to it as an economic slowdown. I am crossing everything that the world gets its act together, goes hard, and contains this virus as soon as possible. However, that being said there is already a big economic impact that will trickle through the economic river of 2020 and possibly beyond.

“But I already have a great reputation, our agency is extremely consultative, and our clients and candidates love us”

I do have a lot of clients who fit into the camp above, they do, have a great reputation, their clients and candidates do love them – but here is my response – prove it. Get it in writing, make sure you convert those exception candidate experiences and client outcomes into written testimonials… written testimonials are a marketable asset… better still reviews on all associated social sites to back this up will make a stronger case. Better still, have the testimonial independently verified.
Here’s where the product plug comes in. TopRec, is an inexpensive tool that measures candidate and client feedback and finally turns it into reviews and testimonials on the sites that matter, the sites your prospective clients visit to check you out. Your Website, Your businesses Google reviews on the Google home page, your reviews on Google maps, your reviews on Facebook and your reviews on your own Linkedin page. Reputation always matters, but it matters a little more in an economic slowdown. They say the best time to plant a tree was yesterday, but the second best time to plant a tree is today.
